Sculptural Paint Brush Rests

$18.00
Color:
Orange
White
Green
Blue

These brush rests were made as a resting place for multiple brushes while you pause or end your creative work for the day. The color story comes from 4 colors I continually observed while sitting in nature, under my orange trees and noticed how they made me feel: White, Blue, Green, and Orange. Each brought its own energy, chromotherapy, and aesthetic- which will you choose for your studio?

These sculptural brush rests are made from custom dyed porcelain clay to matc the color story of the collection and finished with a clear glaze, for the white brush rest a satin white glaze was applied.

White-The Inuit language has seven words for white, and Sanskrit has words for the white of teeth, of cow's milk, and of stars. Japanese has six words for white. My white symbolizes orange blossoms, wispy clouds i see when I tilt my head back and look up at the sky. My warm white clay, and the limestone finish of the glaze I worked on for this collection.

Blue-The color of the sky brings a hint of green into the mix to create a tone that's uniquely soothing and natural. Sky blue color evokes a sense of hope, dreams, and goodwill. Blue is typically a symbol of depth, stability, wisdom, faith, truth, and heaven. Sky Blue color was first recorded as "sky blew" in English in 1681, harkening to the color seen on a clear day.

Green- Green symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another, and a larger purpose. Green is linked to emotions like calmness and thoughtfulness and often symbolizes renewal, growth, balance, and harmony.

Orange- Oranges were often featured in Renaissance still life paintings. Pomona , the Roman deity of fruitful abundance was often depicted in the color orange. this was the first tie between the color orange and tasty things. The invention of new orange pigments in the 19th century made orange color an important element of impression artwork.

In most parts of the West, orange color sparks creativity and positive thinking, good luck, health, elation, encouragement, playfulness, happiness, and sweetness.
