In using a version of these at an artist retreat we found it helpful to blow out the candle and remove it when it had burned to about an inch above the top of the holder part otherwise it is difficult to remove the wax from the small hole and replace the candle. The smaller beeswax candles burn quickly so keep an eye on your candles so you can make a clean swap.
