I watched a leaf fall from the birch.
It was brown and wispy,
discarded like old skin.
I felt somber,
empty.
Soon, a green bud took its place
and a leaf grew
and it fell from the birch again.
I felt relief,
Joy.
I can’t wait to watch it again.

This sculpture is handbuilt from obsidian black clay. Measures 5.5 x2.25 The clay is unglazed and unsealed and it is not recommended that is original piece of art come into contact with water. There is a slight crack along her body.
